Eleven Bennington students have earned statewide recognition for their musical talents, securing spots in the 2026 Nebraska All-State Choir, Band and Orchestra.
The students were selected to represent Bennington among talented musicians from across Nebraska, an accomplishment that recognizes their musical ability, preparation and dedication.
Eight students were selected for the All-State Choir: Jochanan Kabore, Maddie Scott and Katherine Sukraw, soprano 1; Jayci Luther, soprano 2; Eli Sukraw, tenor 1; Preston Nocita and Prise Yates, tenor 2; and Zane Walter, bass 2.
Three students earned places in the All-State Band. Piper Circo was selected for clarinet for the first time, Sterling Sharp earned his second selection on trumpet, and Lexi Grimes was selected for trombone for the fourth consecutive year.
Bennington will also be represented in the All-State Orchestra by Liliana Martic, who earned her fourth selection on French horn.
The returning musicians’ accomplishments stand out, with Grimes and Martic each reaching the four-year milestone in their respective ensembles. Their continued selections reflect years of musical development, practice and commitment.
What Is All-State?
Nebraska All-State music ensembles bring together selected high school musicians from across the state to perform at a prestigious statewide event. Students audition for positions in their respective ensembles, competing for a limited number of spots alongside other talented student musicians.
Those selected have the opportunity to work with other accomplished musicians and participate in a collaborative musical experience that extends beyond their own school programs.
For Bennington, the 11 selections represent achievement across three musical disciplines, with students earning recognition in choir, band and orchestra.
