One person was killed and another critically injured Saturday morning following a crash involving a dump truck and a passenger vehicle near 204th Street and Bennington Road.

The crash was reported shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday. According to initial information, the passenger vehicle was traveling eastbound on Bennington Road when it entered the intersection and was struck by a southbound dump truck on 204th Street.

One occupant of the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. A second occupant was transported to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha with extremely critical injuries.

Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.

The crash closed 204th Street between Rainwood Road and Highway 26 as crews worked at the scene and investigators conducted their investigation. The intersection was blocked by the involved truck.

Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and use 216th Street or 180th Street as alternate routes.
