The Bennington High School One Act team brought the house down last night with their powerful and emotional community showcase of “Voices of the Titanic” in the BHS auditorium, and they did it as freshly crowned champions!

After sweeping the 2025 Fremont One Act Competition (taking home 1st Place, Best Tech Award, Best Ensemble Award, and a staggering 18 Outstanding Performer Awards), the team kept the momentum rolling at DC West with Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and 12 more Outstanding Performer Awards. This gripping drama, the program’s first serious show in years, weaves real stories from the Titanic with haunting original music and left the home crowd in tears.

Coach Blake Thompson couldn’t hide his pride: “I’m really proud of them. They have done a really good job! This is the first time they’ve done a drama and a serious show in a long time… So I’m very proud and humbled to see them succeed.” Lead stage manager Caleb Rawson hopes audiences walked away understanding “how important the ship was… everyone thought this ship was the biggest, the best, you know, unsinkable… It was something big that happened.” Senior Westlee Bird, who portrayed First Officer William Murdoch, felt the weight of history in his character: “It makes me feel like I had to do him justice, because if I didn’t do him justice, he’s an actual person.” Jack Holtorf, playing ship designer Thomas Andrews, added that the role is “really emotional and meaningful… They weren’t these all powerful figures. They were just people trying to survive in this horrible, catastrophic event.”

Huge congratulations to Coach Thompson, the entire cast, crew, and every student who poured their hearts into this unforgettable production – you’ve made Bennington SO proud! 🛳️❤️ Check out some photos below and feel free to share!
