Last night, our Bennington Badgers battled hard in the Class B semifinals at Waverly, coming on strong in the third and fourth quarters — but ultimately fell 38–18 to the Vikings, knocking the Badgers out of the state race. Despite the loss, the effort, grit, and community support were truly something to be proud of. Badger fans spilled out of the stands and onto the end zones to show their support last night. The Bennington Dance Team performed at halftime, continuing to rally the Badger supporters.

As the football season wraps up, we’re shifting our focus to winter sports — basketball, wrestling, and more — and we’ll be right here covering it all. Of course we will still be covering everything else in the community as well! If you believe in the power of local storytelling, we’d love your help. The Bennington Buzz is a nonprofit newsroom, free for everyone in the community, but powered by community support.

If you like what we’re building and want to keep seeing full-scale, meaningful coverage of Bennington schools, government, sports, and more — please consider donating. Every dollar helps us continue delivering local news that matters as we prepare to launch full-scale operations. (All gifts are tax-deductible through the Bennington Community Foundation.)
