Pentatonix fans in Omaha, mark your calendars—tomorrow night at the CHI Center is going to be pure holiday magic! In an exclusive chat with Scott Hoying, he raved about the tour so far: “We’ve done three shows so far, and they’ve been packed with families and people dressing up for Christmas. The shows have gone really smoothly, and everyone’s been really lovely.” He added that announcing his and husband Mark’s baby news onstage turns every performance into “one big celebration.”
Hoying gave a sneak peek of what’s in store: “The show is so much fun. One, it’s just beautiful. The set is our best set we’ve ever had on any show. And the set list is so much fun. We do everything that people love and have fallen in love with for so many years. We also do a lot of our new stuff, but we do it in a way that is so much fun.” Expect classic PTX holiday hits, fresh arrangements, and that seamless flow that keeps the energy sky-high.
The convo got personal fast- Hoying opened up about impending fatherhood and how he hopes his musical career will influence his child, saying, “I hope that it helps my child fall in love with music and it teaches my child the power of community and family and the things you can achieve when you work together with a team.” He also shared how his book “Fa La La Family” has sparked heartfelt fan stories: “I’ve had so many people write to me online… people will come up and be like, I’m an adopted kid with two moms. Or, I was kicked out of my house and I have a chosen family.”
Diving deeper, Hoying reflected on the legacy and authenticity of Pentatonix: “I would want to take the lesson of authenticity, leaning in following what you love, being around people that you really love to be around, not putting on a front and just staying honest in everything you do.” With a baby on the way and a heart full of harmony, his joy is contagious.
